Churn, GRR and NRR calculator

How much of your base's revenue did you keep, and how much did it grow on its own, without a single new customer? Enter four numbers and find out.

Only customers already in the base at the start. Use the same currency and period in every field.
Your base
–
revenue churn
–
GRR (gross retention)
–
NRR (net retention)

How the math works

  • Revenue churn = (contraction + churn) ÷ starting revenue.
  • GRR = (starting revenue − contraction − churn) ÷ starting revenue. Never above 100%.
  • NRR = (starting revenue + expansion − contraction − churn) ÷ starting revenue. Goes above 100% when expansion covers the losses.

NRR above 100% means your base grows even without new customers. That's where CS, CX and sales show up in the same number. Read the revenue growth guide.
